The Shikhar Dhawan Foundation, in collaboration with The Cuddles Foundation, launched a month-long campaign to support children in their battle against cancer by addressing the crucial issue of proper nutrition. Malnourished children often face challenges in tolerating chemotherapy, and their weakened state makes them more susceptible to infections, leading to increased mortality rates. Chemotherapy can have different and potentially toxic effects in malnourished children. To address this critical issue, the initiative introduced the Food Heals program, which aims to bridge the nutrition gap for children with cancer in 35 government and charity hospitals across 20 cities in India. Through this program, the foundation strives to provide adequate nutrition and support to enhance the treatment outcomes and overall well-being of these children.
