Shikhar Dhawan is an avid animal lover and on various occasions has shown his commitment to the sincere cause of working towards their welfare. He has been associated with People For Animals and has supported their various initiatives. Last year, PFA Uttarakhand had established
animal shelters after the holy yatras were cancelled due to the Covid19. They were providing animals with food and veterinary treatment. Earlier, PFA had launched an initiative called PAWSITIVE HEARTS to tackle the problem of animal starvation. Shikhar Dhawan had made a request to the people through his social media platforms to support this initiative.

On one occasion he had announced the adoption of two desi dogs, named Chloe and Valentine, his love for animals is truly endless. He quotes “There is no greater gift than kindness”.

On another occasion Shikhar Dhawan took his son along with him to feed hungry animals on the street during the lockdown when the restrictions imposed had made it severely difficult for animals to find food and as a result were starving. He mentions that it’s an important lesson for
his son as he is being taught to be kind towards animals. In his own words – “As a father, it’s very important to teach my son the true values of life and one of them is to be kind to others, especially the ones in need. Feeding hungry animals in these tough times is important and I feel
proud imparting such deep lessons to my son.”
