Dignity in Every Cycle: Advancing Menstrual Health with Biodegradable Pads

At Shikhar Dhawan Foundation, menstrual health is not a privilege—it is a fundamental right. For millions of women and girls, something as basic as access to safe, hygienic menstrual products still remains out of reach, often affecting their health, confidence, and participation in daily life.

Through our recent biodegradable sanitary pad distribution drive, the foundation took a small but powerful step toward changing that reality. By providing eco-friendly menstrual products, we are not only supporting better hygiene and comfort, but also reducing the environmental impact of traditional disposable pads.

This initiative goes beyond distribution. It is about starting conversations that break stigma, normalise menstrual health, and empower women and girls with knowledge and choice. When communities understand that menstruation is natural and nothing to be hidden or silenced, mindsets begin to shift.
