“Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.”
-William Butler Yeats
Millions of young minds can grow up and move the fate of our country and decide what India would be like in future. We must nurture them and provide a space and environment to grow and learn. Shikhar Dhawan Foundation has invested its endeavours to provide equitable & quality Early Childhood Education to children in schools of Samba district Shikhar Dhawan Foundation’s initiative in collaboration with EduWeave Foundation aims at helping young minds in Jammu to develop greater competency, deeper and wider understanding, greater wisdom, increased effectiveness in their environment and the world, and a richer frame of reference. The programme named “Training & Implementation of Developmentally appropriate practices during Early years for School readiness (TIDES)” will help the children of Jammu to prosper during their developmental years of learning.
This endeavours to achieve the goal of laying a solid foundation for their lives ahead by providing equitable quality education.
Developmental years are the most important as early child development sets the foundation for lifelong learning, behaviour, and health. The experiences children have in early childhood shape the brain and the child’s capacity to learn, get along with others, and respond to daily stresses and challenges. TIDES will be implemented extensively in Samba District in Jammu. The area is in high need of early childhood development and care intervention. TIDES programme will bridge the gap between the children willing and capable of studying and equitable quality education.
